This page contains information for candidates on how to complete an Acceptd application for undergraduate and postgraduate studies
All candidates must submit an Acceptd application, ahead of their audition, as well as a UCAS Conservatoires application.
Follow these instructions to create an account and submit your application. This page also contains an FAQ if you need assistance with the process.
- Create an account on Acceptd if you don't already have one, and then go to the Royal Academy of Music landing page to start your application.
- Under 'Start an Application':
- Select the relevant Program Group from the 'Select Program Group' dropdown menu
- Select the relevant Program from the 'Select Program' dropdown menu
- The Royal Academy of Music landing page has guidance about choosing the Program Group for your course.
- Input your answers to the questions in the different sections. You will be asked for your UCAS Conservatoires 10-figure personal ID number. Please ensure you input this correctly and please use the same email address as you have used in UCAS Conservatoires.
- Upload into the ‘Media’ section any items that are required to support your course choice and Principal Study. These are detailed in the Audition Requirements section for your department.
- Supporting documents for MMus, Prof Dip, Adv Prof Dip and Adv Art Dip are detailed on our Entry Requirements page, under ‘Written Requirements’.
- You will receive a confirmation email when you have submitted your profile, along with an Acceptd application ID. Please set getacceptd.com as a Safe Sender so you don’t miss any messages.
- If you find any technical problems with the Acceptd portal, you can can go to the Support page or use the green Help button on screen to get assistance from the Acceptd customer team.
Frequently asked questions
Your Acceptd application is an opportunity to let us know more about you, to upload any supporting documents and, if you are auditioning by video recording or providing prescreening recordings, to upload your audition videos. Acceptd is the system the panels use to get to know you and to make notes and decisions on all applications.
Yes - if you are applying for two different Principal Studies (for example, Piano and also Ensemble Piano, or Opera and Vocal Studies) you will need to go back to our Acceptd Landing Page and complete a profile for the second Principal Study.
No – please only submit one UCAS Conservatoires choice, and one Acceptd application. If you are interested in two different courses (for example, MMus and MA, or Advanced Artist Diploma and Professional Diploma, or BMus and Gap Year), you only need to complete one UCAS choice and one Acceptd application.
Please note that in your Acceptd application you should submit the supporting documents for all the courses you are interested in (see our Entry Requirements page).
It is possible that you have created an Acceptd account, but you have not started/completed an application on the Royal Academy of Music Acceptd page. Please follow the instructions on Page 1, explaining how to complete an application.
